Title: "My Happy Eye" Painting finished 10/10/10
I have been working on this, my latest painting on and off for about two years. The stretcher warped in the high desert heat as I had stored it unfinished out in our garage, and it's been heartbreaking sweat straightening out the stretchers, which I did, of which finally I was about to take it somewhere else to display when my better half said she would like some colour in the dining room. Now that was magic, and made me very happy.
Yes... I know if you were to review the work of German contemporary painter Gerhard Richter you will find he did something on the lines of my finished painting way back in the 60's, so what! I did not plagiarize him for it was only this last summer in Art Forum did I see something similar he had painted, and frankly I don't care. Never met the man although I would like to and with that I hope you like it because I do, and as far as my better half wanting colour... by golly we have colour now to brighten up the dining room!

This one is very interesting, George. The way the colors are juxtaposed makes some pop and some recede, almost as if it is moving. Very cool.
That is quite colorful George! I think it must meet Patricia's needs to brighten up the dining room.
Miss you both,
Laura
I love it George - all that color is wonderful. Thanks for painting and sharing it.
